Buy "green" printer paper
- Look for unbleached recycled paper with the highest post-consumer
waste content you can find.

Buy local food - Reduce
carbon emissions. Keep your food dollars in the local economy. Ask
where your food comes from. Buy at farmers' markets.

Avoid PBDE and DECA,
harmful fire retardants found in carpets, sleepwear and foam
products (from pillows to mattresses). Opt for less flammable
fabrics and materials like leather, wool and cotton.

Switch to LED lights -
LEDs boast an extremely long lifespan and use even less energy the
CFLs. (CFLs are 75% efficient, LEDs are 95% efficient.) Even
better, they are free of mercury and give off almost no heat.
